2023 UPDATE - Best picture spots - Location Highlight - St. Augustine, Florida {Jacksonville and St. Augustine senior photographer}
This isn’t a specific location but instead my favorite town for taking senior and college graduate pictures and it also happens to be the oldest one in America - St. Augustine.
There is so much history in this gorgeous town as well as tons of stunning hidden spots any honestly pretty much every street is picture worthy! Another bonus - this little town is just a car-ride away from Jacksonville and Ponte Vedra plus it’s so beautiful year-round! If you want to add some magic then make to your images then make sure to visit/plan your photoshoot during Night of Lights - it’s just spectacular!
I will bring out some specific areas so that you can find them yourself and/or vision your senior or college grad session in this setting as well!
The gardens and the fountain in between Casa Monica Hotel, Lightner Museum and Flagler College is so so pretty and offers the perfect backdrop for a senior or college grad session - so much gorgeous architecture in every image makes your session look just beautiful!
The streets of St. Augustine are so so beautiful no matter what time of the year it is! There is so much charm all around so whatever street you end up with - it’s going to be a good choice. Old brick, metal gates, cobblestone streets, blooming bougainvilleas and lots of greenery are all that make this old town super charming!
Either side of the Lightner Museum there is the most gorgeous little courtyard with fountain on each side, giant bougainvilleas and Mediterranean style doors! It you time your session right then these bushes will be in full bloom! However I think even without blooming this location is totally with photographing!
Keep in mind if there is an event going on then you won’t be able to take pictures there and you’ll be sent on your way. Please reserve your spot and get a photography permit so that you you won’t have to leave disappointed!
Below are some images from Magnolia Avenue. You might of heard of it already since it’s actually pretty popular among photographers! Beautiful moss trees making and “arch” and it looks like an endless tunnel. There are also some picture worthy spots right off the road from the street as you can see here. The traffic can get really bad over there so planning the session to least busy time of the day/week is key!
Flagler College - in case you’re not familiar - this is actually one of the prettiest universities in the country! It’s historic and has so many photo options all around both inside and outside of the property! And even if you’re not in St. Augustine for a photoshoot I would highly recommend checking it out!
Last but not least - a little alleyway in between the streets near Lightner Museum. It’s not crowded (which is a huge bonus considering how busy it can get in the oldest city!) and offers adorable cobblestone looking walkway surrounded by greenery and beautiful (private) houses on each side.
Do you have a favorite spot in St. Augustine? I’d love to hear about it!
